Tourist-friendly city of Singapore

Singapore has become my favorite stop-over or transit point for my travels around Southeast Asia. Aside from the fact that you can find a lot of cheap bargains on flights (it is the regional hub for Tiger Airways, Jetstar, and other budget airlines), the city also offers a stress-free holiday.

Everything is organized and orderly. No chaotic mess at the airport on arrivals, at bus stops, or at train stations. Every single option is given to the commuters. Tourists can have a choice of either taking a taxi, a train, or a bus to any point in the city.

No need to ask also where to go. Everywhere you can see directions pointing you to various destinations. For instance, from my accommodation (I was bunking in with a friend) in Hougang Avenue I have to take a bus to Paya Lebar MRT station. Look at the bus interchange……if this was in Manila or in any other cities in Asia, the line would have been chaotic, noisy, and horribly looooong....

If you are in Changi airport and you need to transfer to the budget terminal for another flight, you can easily find your way around with all these directions…..

You don’t have to take a taxi for the entire time you are in the city, although Singapore taxis have by far one of the most honest taxi drivers in the region so I definitely recommend riding in one if you are not counting your pennies and wanted to get to your destination faster!

Singapore is definitely one of the most tourist-friendly places in the region.
