Dinner with the Consul General
Right after the Pinoy party at Kuda Bandos, a slew of problems started. A couple of Pinoys were detained at the police for investigation * (I cannot discuss yet the particulars of the case as it is still pending right now) hence our group especially Kuya Boy called up and requested assistance from the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka. Currently, there is no consular office in Maldives, the nearest is the Honorary Consulate in Sri Lanka (with Hon. Consul Pereira) but we are still under the jurisdiction of the Dhaka embassy.
The Consul General came to the rescue naman. After a hectic schedule with presentation of credentials to the Foreign Ministry, meeting with the police commissioner, going to the island jail to meet the Noyps there, medyo makapal pa rin kami and we still invited him for a dinner date on the second night (as he is leaving the following day!).
We went to Lily's Restaurant, a seaside restaurant located inside the Majeediya Carnival complex. Special request kasi ni ConGen ang seafood kasi they don't get it often in Dhaka, although they can get pork from the German butcher (ay ang sosyal ng dating!) but only for expats.
My only contribution to the evening was to go back and forth to the buffet table, of course, grilled prawns, crabs, marinated beef ---- yum yum!!! Good thing, the others were really serious about the agenda, that of having a dialogue with the embassy representative regarding the common woes of the Pinoys in the Maldives.

He is very approachable and nice....or maybe i'm just very biased especially when he started reminiscing about the time when the 3 colleges CSSP-CS-CAL was still called CAS (College of Arts & Sciences) back in the glory days of UP Diliman....and yes, we do have something in common --- hehehe, we can still memorize our student numbers!
The attendees were all representatives of the various groups in the Maldives like,
Kuya Jess (representing his company with at least 400 Pinoy staffs), George (Gedor Architects), Kuya Luis (President's Palace)
Ate Connie (Rainbow Construction)
Together with the girls from Dome Cafe at ang mga opisyales ng grupo gaya moi!
