An Enchanting five days in Soneva Gili....

Time stands still in this pocket of paradise. Blindingly white sand beach, turquoise clear waters greets guests upon arrival. If I can describe Soneva Gili in 3 words, it will be--- luxurious, private, unique.

Alas, but my visit to Soneva Gili was not entirely to luxuriate in its surroundings, but to attend a meeting and a training session. Well, in any case, I wouldn't be able to afford even 10% percent of the Villa rate! Lol

The resort has been consistently voted as one of the top resorts in the Maldives and in the entire Indian Ocean. Conde Nast Traveller includes it in their Gold List for 2009 (consistently for the past couple of years). The place exudes understated simple luxury, from the villas to the bars and restaurants.

Total privacy is also an ethos. With villas ranging from U$2,000 for the Villa Suite to the U$14,000-per-night ultra luxe Private Reserve, it’s a very exclusive hideaway for the rich and famous. Staffs are not allowed to divulge information about the guests to anyone (no paparazzi photos ok!).

Everything is unique in the island. From the hedgehog foot cleaner to the outdoor bench, every single item has been created from the scratch. Aside from being an Original, it is also very eco-friendly, in keeping with the Six Senses Resorts vision of “To be trend-setting and innovative while continuing to redefine a responsible leisure lifestyle”.
